Jackie Dives is a birth doula and photographer living in Vancouver. Since her early teens, she has been interested in women’s health and particularly birth. In 2010, after meeting another doula, she was inspired to become one herself. And now she’s creating beautiful photos by documenting the home births of women.
The one you’re about to see is titled Peaceful Home Birth.
Jackie wrote on her blog about it:
When I arrived at this home birth Mama was playing the piano. The mood was peaceful, with candles lit and soft music on in the background. Mama was surrounded by love. Her partner, her doula, and two of her sisters were there, caring for her.
In this peaceful home birth, Mommy plays the piano to relax.
Her sister massages her back to keep her calm.
And her partner is there for her every step of the way.
As labor intensifies, Mommy moves into the birth pool.
Her partner gets in with her to help her breathe.
Her entire support group is there for her until…
… the beautiful baby is born.
After experiencing a beautiful home birth, the family is seen together – happy and healthy.
If you thought this was beautiful, you can see more on Jackie Dives’ blog. And be sure to share this post for others to see.
