If I got stranded on Big Major Cay Island in the Bahamas I would not technically be alone on the island. I would be sharing it with the happiest pigs in the world. These swimming pigs have actually ended up being so well-known that the island is unofficially called as Pig Beach or Pig Island by the residents… Even though, I would rather it be called The Bay of Pigs.
Take a look at these little guys! They are plainly having the time of their lives!
Legend has it that the pigs were dropped off on Big Major Cay Island by a crew of sailors who wished to return and eat them. The sailors, however, never came back and the pigs fed on excess food discarded from boats that passes by.
Another legend says the pigs survived a shipwreck and swam ashore, while another tells that the pigs had ran away from a neighboring island.
Others have hinted that the pigs belonged to a company plan to bring in travelers to the Bahamas.
Whichever is correct, the delighted swimming pigs are now fed by residents and travelers.
These images truly do not do justice to simply just how much fun these pigs are having. Watch this video, it is the best thing you will ever see.
Share these magnificent swimming pigs with your buddies.
